Abstract

Nowadays, due to the increase in the number of processed foods and the epidemic spread of obesity, nutrition labels placed on prepacked foods, which are placed in the main field of vision of consumers, on the front side of the package are gaining more and more space. This FOP nutrition label has already been introduced in several European countries, in order to orient consumers towards a healthier lifestyle. It can be stated that the FOP nutrition labels have the same uniform goal: to help consumers interpret the nutritional value of foods as easily as possible. Ultimately, they should be able to make an informed decision as easily as possible, taking into account health aspects. The primary goal of our study is to explore consumer attitudes and the factors that can influence consumers in making healthier food choices. The primary data collection method was the online questionnaire, which related to the knowledge and use of the so-called Nutri-Score and Nutrinform Battery nutrition labels. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the Nutri-Score nutrition label was better known among consumers in all aspects.
